For the second consecutive year, Christian Brothers Academy Wrestling is the top program in the Shore.

The Colts had four individual class champions to finish first in the tournament's standings, defeating second place St. John Vianney by 16 points.

Seniors Julian George (144), Tyler Barrett (150), and Zander Silva (157) each continued their terrific seasons by winning their class, but it was a freshman who stole the show.

113-pound Bobby Duffy won his class in dramatic fashion, beating a returning state finalist in overtime. Duffy was tied with SJV's Patrick O'Keefe until he escaped an attempted takedown and completed a takedown of his own. Duffy's takedown and three near-fall points earned him a 6-1 victory and the class title.

Christian Brothers' four winners ties the Shore Conference Tournament record for individual victories in a single tournament. The Colts also set a new Shore record for most overall medalists.

Seniors Robert Canterino (215) and Anthony Lawrence (165) each finished as weight class runners-up, while senior Nick Stump was third at 175 pounds. Sophomore AJ Falcone notched a fourth place finish at 126 pounds and junior Tyler Venet was sixth at 120 pounds.

CBA's difficult regular season schedule, wrestling multiple top-10 teams in the state as well as out-of-state competition, proved to help the Colts in tournament matches.

Before the SCT, CBA clinched the Shore's A North Division for a third straight season. The Colts will now look ahead to the district, regional and state tournament.
