After winning all three of their early season invitationals, the Colts were ready for the big stage at the Manhattan Invitational on October 14.
Christian Brothers dominated Van Cortland Park in the wet, soggy conditions, led by a mind-blowing performance by junior Joe Barrett.
Barrett propelled the Colts to the title with CBA's first-ever individual winner in the Eastern States race, setting a school record at 12:13.6 and putting himself 13th all-time at Van Cortland Park.
It was the second straight Eastern States Championship for CBA, winning this 2023 version by a whopping 77 points over the next closest school.
All five of the Colts' scorers finished in the top-20 of the race, including senior Alex Kemp (12th), senior Conor Clifford (14th), junior Alex Mastroly (17th) and sophomore Wyatt Falkowski (19th).
Just five days later, a close to entirely different CBA squad won the Shore Conference Championship at Ocean County Park.
Clifford was the lone carryover, and unsurprisingly, he paced the Colts' effort. The senior finished second in the race, just missing the individual win.
Sophomore Sean Galvin was fifth overall, followed by sophomore Luke Hnatt (12th), junior Thomas Field (13th) and senior William De Marco (21st).
It is the 20th straight Shore title for Christian Brothers and a record 38th overall.
After the NJCTC meet on October 28, the Colts will then ready for the state championship on November 4 and the Meet of Champions on November 11.
