Christian Brothers Academy is pleased to welcome Nicholas Aguilera as the school's new head athletic trainer.

Aguilera comes to the Academy from Monmouth University, where he primarily worked with the Hawks' football program as well as the men's and women's swimming & diving teams.

"I am thrilled to join the CBA athletic department," Aguilera said. "What excites me about this opportunity is being able to be a part of a successful and competitive athletic department, as well as being a part of a community that is rich in tradition and excellence."

He has been a certified athletic trainer (ATC) for over eight years, graduating from East Stroudsburg University with a B.S. in Athletic Training and Long Island University Brooklyn with a M.S. in Exercise Science.

Aguilera has both his national and state license as a certified athletic trainer, in addition to being a New Jersey Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

"I became an athletic trainer because of my love for competition," he said. "In the world of sports medicine, being an ATC allows you to be a part of the team culture and allows you to see the growth and development of the team and individual players."

Aguilera is now tasked with working with student-athletes from 18 interscholastic athletic teams, working directly with CBA coaches, school nurses, and physicians to care for the needs of student-athletes.

He is excited to hit the ground running in being an important resource for the athletic department.

"My vision is to offer more resources to the student-athletes and to provide a better understanding as to what an athletic trainer can provide them in times of need," he said. "We want to implement a culture that is less reactive to situations and become more proactive in allowing our student-athletes to stay healthy and safe, enabling the continual success of CBA Athletics."
