Behind a perfect 6-0 start to the season, Christian Brothers Academy Fencing sits at number one in NJ.com's state-wide rankings for January 18.

The Colts have a stranglehold on the top spot after a week where they won three impressive matches over Holmdel, Lawrenceville, and St. Augustine.

Senior Jorge Gana is 12-0 individually on the season, picking up where he left off last winter when he won NJ.com's Fencer of the Year. His 3-0 day in the epee helped the Colts edge Lawrenceville, 14-13, but it was senior Daniel Francis' late win that pushed CBA into the lead.

They used the momentum of the Lawrencville win in the next match against St. Augustine, where CBA went 8-1 in the epee to win 21-6.

The Colts' next match will be on January 31 when they travel to St. Benedict's Prep.
