Christian Brothers Academy's seven winter sports are all now officially underway for the 2021-2022 season.

HOCKEY

As per tradition, CBA Hockey jumpstarted the winter season in late November, now ranked as New Jersey's number one team in NJ.com's December 20 rankings.

The Colts head into the winter break with a 6-0-3 record, including wins over No. 2 Don Bosco Prep, No. 6 Princeton Day and No. 7 Gloucester Catholic. They'll return to action on January 5 with a showdown against Don Bosco at home.

SWIMMING

The swimming team returned to the pool in November, coming off its undefeated 2021 season and end-of-season number one ranking in the state.

CBA was quick to pick up wins against Marlboro, Howell and Middletown North. A marquee matchup with Cherry Hill East had to be postponed on December 21. The Colts will jump back into things on January 4 against Manalapan.

BASKETBALL

CBA hosted Holmdel on December 17 to officially open the regular season. Energized by the return of the Colt Crazies, CBA pulled away in the second half of a 66-49 victory. Senior James Durney led the way with 13 points, while junior Joe White added 12 points.

The Colts picked up their first road win on December 21 at Freehold Township, 66-50, as junior Will Bradley paced the way with 16 points.

CBA will play in Red Bank Regional's Buc Classic beginning on December 27. They'll open the tournament with a matchup with host RBR. The Colts are back at home on January 4 against Marlboro.

WRESTLING

The Colts entered two tournaments on December 18 to kick off the season. Four wrestlers were at the Beast of the East Tournament in Delaware, which is one of the most competitive national events. Both sophomore Alex Nini (120lbs) and junior Julian George (138lbs) brought home third place medals.

Meanwhile back in Lincroft, CBA hosted a modified Colt Classic Tournament, where eight wrestlers earned medals. The day was highlighted by junior Rob Canterino winning his 215 pound weight class.

FENCING

The Colts returned to the strip with a 18-9 win over Holmdel on December 20. Strong performances in the saber (seven wins) and foil (eight wins) were keys to the victory.

It was CBA's lone match before the holiday break, as they will be back in action on January 5.
