Senior Bobby Duffy’s impressive CBA wrestling career concluded with an exclamation point.

The Iowa commit added his first individual state championship to his resumé on March 14 in Atlantic City, becoming just the fourth individual wrestler to win a state title.

“It means a lot to me, my family, and everybody here at CBA,” Duffy explained. “I worked my whole life to win a state championship, and to accomplish that as a senior is extremely special.”

Duffy dominated the individual state tournament. His championship run included three pins, all of which came under a minute in the first period. Along with his impressive postseason, Duffy also performed in the regular season, recording a 38-5 overall record and an undefeated record against in-state opponents.

A key aspect of Duffy’s successful career has been the support from Coach Ashnault and the wrestling coaching staff.

“Coach Ashnault shows up for us every day. He’s always full of energy and is ready to get to work,” Duffy said. “All of the coaches pour a lot into the team, and knowing that the coaches are always by our side is extremely special to all of us.”

The senior also became just the third-ever CBA wrestler to win four district titles, earning a pin in the finals of the District 21 Tournament.

As he concludes his wrestling career as a Colt, Duffy reflects on his journey throughout his time at CBA.

“The journey has been a tough one,” the Iowa commit stated. “But, it has definitely been worth it, and I am extremely thankful for everyone who has helped me along the way.”

Duffy’s career as a Colt is nothing short of impressive. By taking home a state title, he has etched his name into the history books of CBA Wrestling.
