During halftime of the February 4 game against St. Rose, the Academy honored Coach Bill Hazelton for his over 30 years of dedication to CBA Basketball.

Hazelton joined head coach Ed Wicelinski's staff in 1991 and remained a part of head coach Geoff Billet's staff until 2022. During his time on the bench, he helped the Colts to a state championship, six state sectional titles, and 11 Shore Conference Championships. Coincidentally, Billet was the point guard on the state championship team in 1995.

Affectionately known by players as "Coach Haze," the lifelong educator and coach impacted hundreds of student-athletes' lives during his tenure at CBA.

After the game, dozens of former basketball players attended a special reception for Hazleton, where they reminisced on memorable games and great stories. Both Wicelinski and Billet spoke about how Hazelton played an integral role in the success of CBA Basketball.

Prior to joining the CBA staff, Hazelton served as the head coach at Union High School.
