Christian Brothers Academy Basketball heads into 2022 with plenty of momentum.

The Colts went three for three at Red Bank Regional's Buc Classic to earn the tournament title, including wins over some of the Shore's top teams.

The third seed in the bracket, CBA opened the tournament with a victory over host RBR, 50-43. Senior Pat Lautato led the way with 13 points, while CBA shot 11 for 13 from the free throw line as a team.

CBA matched up next with second seed Rumson-Fair Haven, where Will Bradley turned in a career performance. The junior scored 26 points, including 17 in the second half, to propel CBA to a 52-48 win.

The championship game pitted the Colts against top seed Ranney , and CBA once again showed a gritty resilience against a talented Panthers team. Lautato turned in his best all-around game of the season in a 55-49 overtime victory.

His defensive prowess was on display as Lautato notched five steals to go along with 17 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. He earned the tournament's MVP honors after the game.

Bradley added 18 points, including the game-tying free throw to send the game to overtime and the go-ahead three pointer in the extra session.

It was a statement performance from a young Colts team that is looking to make waves in the Shore this season. The road doesn't get much easier in the new year, with games against top-10 Shore teams Marlboro, Ranney, and Red Bank Catholic in the first half of January.
