Christian Brothers Academy Soccer returned to a familiar spot: the Non-Public A state championship game.
The Colts won a high-scoring affair at the Academy over Notre Dame to claim the Non-Public A south sectional title on November 11. Goals by Will Thygeson, Dylan Cupo (2), Dimitry Corba, and Jake Homowitz added up to a 5-4 win over the Irish.
In the team's 18th appearance in the state final, the Colts faced Seton Hall Prep - the winner of the north sectional - at Kean University on November 14. In a defensive battle, Seton Hall emerged with a 2-0 victory.
Christian Brothers arrived in the state final by route of victories over Union Catholic, St. Augustine Prep, and Notre Dame. The run to the state championship game follows the Colts' tear through the Shore Conference. CBA won its 11th Shore Conference Championship, surrendering zero goals throughout the four-game tournament.
The sectional win pushed the Colts' winning streak against New Jersey teams to 33 straight games, having lost to just La Salle College High (PA) this season before Seton Hall Prep.
