In a season with just two championship-style meets, Christian Brothers Academy Cross Country made sure to win them both.

Two weeks after securing their 52nd Monmouth County title, the Colts won the NJSIAA Non-Public A South Sectional Championship on November 15 at Oak Ridge Park.

The NJSIAA determined before the season that there would be no state championship or Meet of Champions meets, so the sectional championship would be the biggest meet that CBA could win this fall.

Unsurprisingly, the Colts didn't let the opportunity to win the first-ever non-public sectional meet pass them by.

Senior Chris DeSousa won the 5k race in 15:38, which was good for second all-time on the Clark-based course. Fellow senior Ben Santos finished as the runner-up in 15:40.

Christian Brothers put all five scorers in the top-10 of the race, with Nick Sullivan '23 (5th), Jack Moran '22 (6th), and Dan DeMasi '21 (8th) rounding out the CBA scorers.

"We all knew that this was the last time our seniors would wear a CBA uniform in a cross-country race, so we left it all out there today,'' DeSousa told Milesplit after the race. "This was a huge meet for us, and we all ran really well, and feels great to win this.''

The Colts finish the season as the number one ranked team in New Jersey by Milesplit.
