CBA Soccer’s James Brady had a senior season he was truly proud of.

The team captain was impressive during his final campaign with the Colts, recording 16 goals, six assists, and totaling 38 points. His leadership and play on the field propelled CBA to a stellar 16-3-4 overall record, including a 5-0-1 record against opponents in the Shore A-North division.

The TCNJ-commit reflected on his time with the team and how his experiences will better prepare him for playing at the collegiate level.

“I think that CBA soccer, especially the training environment that Coach [Mulligan] has set up, really mimics the college experience and environment,” Brady explained. “I’ve seen college trainings and I’ve seen our trainings. They’re quite similar in the level of intensity and the stuff we do. I think with how the schedule works, training everyday after school and then games during the week, it really mimics college.”

Brady touched on how CBA Soccer has allowed him to strengthen the connection with his teammates.

“I would definitely say that CBA Soccer, as a whole, is definitely a brotherhood,” Brady said. “Beyond the game, I have met some of my best friends for life and gained lots of great memories and good bonds with great people.”

One of Brady’s most memorable moments was his game-winning goal against St. Augustine in the state sectional semifinals. Deadlocked at one goal a piece, it only took 12 seconds into overtime for Brady to nail the golden goal. He was ready for the moment because the team kept a consistent mindset for those crucial, high-stakes matchups.

“I would say for big matchups, rivalry games, state-ranked teams, my mindset was just simply go out there and play as hard as I can,” Brady said. “It will probably be the last time, so why not leave it all out on the field. I think that message was echoed across the entire team, and got us good results against really good teams this year.”

While his time with CBA Soccer has come to an end, Brady’s leadership, attitude and effort will leave a lasting impression on the program for years to come.
