Christian Brothers Academy Track & Field concluded the 2025 spring season in the best way possible - with a state championship.

The Colts topped the Non-Public A Championship by 19.5 points, winning four events in the process.

Individually, CBA was paced in the 3200 by winner Luke Hnatt '26, who ran a 9:08.97. Hnatt's teammates were not far behind, as Ryan Schmitt was second and Gavin Schmitt was fourth in the same event.

Senior Marcus Blasucci concluded his standout final season with a win in the shot put, throwing 62-2' to best the field. Following suit, his teammates also joined him at the top of the standings, as Albert Yodakis was third and Cam Feiler was fourth.

Two of CBA's relay teams were event champions: the 4x400 and the 4x800.

The Colts added additional second place finishes with Shane Landau '27 in the pole vault and Joe Barrett '25 in the 1600. All first and second place finishers received automatic berths into the NJSIAA Meet of Champions.

At the MOC event, CBA had an impressive showing against the state's best competition.

The 4x800 squad brought home the win in a photo finish, as Thomas Field outstretched his West Orange opponent. Ryan Collins, Matt McInerney, Alex Mastroly and Field combined to run 7:48.57, just .02 better than West Orange.

Not to be outdone, Blasucci threw a walk-off 64-8 to clinch the victory in the shot put. No other thrower hit a mark within a foot and a half in the shot put finals.

The Colts added two runner-up finishes as well: Barrett in the 1600 and Hnatt in the 3200.

All of this came after the Colts took home the Penn Relays DMR for the second consecutive year in early May.

Safe to say, it will certainly be a spring season to remember.
