For the 10th consecutive January, the CBA indoor track team won the Monmouth County Championship, taking the title on Friday night in Toms River.

The Colts won four events on the day, enough to ward off a strong meet by second place Freehold Township.

Senior Tim McInerney won his 800 meter run, just a few days after qualifying for the prestigious NYRR Milrose Games in the boys mile. His 4:00.22 time at the Milrose Trials was good for the second best mile time in the U.S.

Junior Shaw Powell was victorious in the 3200 meter run, junior Liam O'Hara took the 55 meter hurdles, and senior Nick Morse threw his way to a shot put finals win. Meanwhile, sophomore Tristan Amell was second in the 1600 meter run.

It was the 28th county championship in indoor program history.

The overall championship came a week after the Colts captured the Monmouth County Relays title.

In that meet, Christian Brothers won the 4x200 meter, 4x800 meter, 1600 meter sprint medley, distance medley, and the shot put. The five event wins led to a 27 point victory over second place Freehold Township.

With the two county championships in their pocket, CBA will look forward to the state relays this upcoming Thursday, January 17th, followed by the Shore Conference Championship on January 25th.
