Christian Brothers Academy Athletics is pleased to announce that Chris Downey '18 (Varsity Lacrosse) and Jack Dooling '21 (Subvarsity Volleyball) have been named the April Student-Athletes of the Month, sponsored by Tinton Falls Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy.
CHRIS DOWNEY | SENIOR | VARSITY LACROSSE | MANASQUAN, NJ
THE RUNDOWN: Chris Downey is the Colts' lock-down goalie, already turning in a school-record four shutouts so far this season, which is a team record. He holds a 3.02 goals against average, which is the best in CBA history, and saves 75% of the shots on goal. In a showdown against rival Manasquan, Downey held the Warriors to just four goals, which is Manasquan's lowest scoring output of the season.

JACK DOOLING | FRESHMAN | SUB VARSITY VOLLEYBALL | MATAWAN, NJ
THE RUNDOWN: One of the team leaders, Jack Dooling has been an influential part of the freshman volleyball team's 15-1 record this spring. He delivered critical kills and defensive plays in the Colts' huge wins over East Brunswick and Wayne Valley this past month.
SOUNDBITE: "Jack has the uncanny ability to motivate his team both on and off the court. It doesn't matter what the score is, he keeps his composure and his fellow players react to his example.
