Christian Brothers Academy Athletics is pleased to announce that Liam Noonan '18 (Varsity Hockey) and Connor Wright '18 (Varsity Swimming) have been named the February Student-Athletes of the Month, sponsored by Tinton Falls Orthopedic & Sports Physical Therapy.

LIAM NOONAN | SENIOR | VARSITY HOCKEY | BRICK, N.J.

THE RUNDOWN: One of two senior captains this season, Noonan was a first line, standout forward for the Colts this season. One of the biggest moments of his CBA career came in the state quarterfinal game against Seton Hall Prep, where he scored the game-winning goal just 31 seconds into overtime to break a 0-0 tie. In the same game, Noonan showed his defensive chops too, helping kill six different 5-on-4 Seton Hall advantages during the 0-0 standoff.

SOUNDBITE: "Liam will do whatever is asked of him day-in and day-out. He will always say, 'if that will help us win, I'll do it.' These tasks are often defensive roles that most likely go unnoticed, like playing a shutdown role of the opponents' best players. He has been doing this for his entire CBA Hockey career." - head coach Ryan Bogan

CONNOR WRIGHT | SENIOR | VARSITY SWIMMING | MONMOUTH BEACH, N.J.

THE RUNDOWN: A senior leader on an underclassman-dominated team, Wright was critical in helping the Colts earn their ninth state championship a few weeks ago. In the state semifinals against Seton Hall Prep, Wright won the 100 backstroke to secure the CBA victory. On the state championship stage, the Fordham-commit won the 100 backstroke and 100 freestyle, along with being a part of the 400 freestyle relay win, to propel the Colts to New Jersey non-public supremacy. The state title is the third of Wright's CBA career.

SOUNDBITE: "Connor is a model leader and student-athlete. His focus and determination are both unmatched, and the heart in which he swims for CBA is inspiring to his fellow swimmers. He cares more about his teammates than himself, which makes him an exceptional leader for our team. He will be missed next year both in and out of the water." - head coach Vito Chiaravalloti
