Lincroft, NJ - Christian Brothers Academy is getting ready to say its goodbyes to legendary cross-country coach Tom Heath.

The school will honor Heath on Monday, April 25 before the Colts' home Outdoor Track & Field meet against Middletown South and Freehold Township.

68-year-old Heath, who announced in December he will retire from coaching at Christian Brothers Academy, has been called the best high school cross-country coach in the United States. He coached cross country for 45 years.

In that period, Heath complied 26 NJSIAA group state championships, 21 NJSIAA Meet of Champions titles, 15 Eastern States regional victories, and a Nike National Championship in 2011. Under Heath, CBA has won 343 dual cross-country meets in a row, a national record.

There will be a ceremony at 3:30 p.m. on April 25, and then the Colts host Middletown South and Freehold in a tri-meet, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Sean McCafferty, currently Heath’s top assistant, has been named his successor.
