On Tuesday, May 24, the CBA Athletics Department held its annual Springs Awards Convocation in the CBA Varsity Gym. The night honored eight spring varsity sports teams: baseball, crew, golf, lacrosse, outdoor track, rugby, tennis and volleyball. Not surprisingly, CBA performed excellently in each of those eight sports, winning state and conference championships, competing on the national stage and demonstrating the brotherhood that comes with being CBA athletes.
"It is a privilege to play for CBA, and moreover, a privilege to be a varsity athlete here," Director of Athletics Vito Chiaravalloti told the students and family members in attendance. "Privilege comes with great responsibility. As you get older, you are afforded more responsibility and your decisions carry greater consequences. My hope is that you will take the lessons you've learned here at CBA from your teachers and coaches, and apply it the rest of your life."
The night gave due to the accomplishments of each team, while also presenting new letter winners their CBA varsity letter. Returning letter men received a commemorative item, acknowledging another year of varsity sport participation. Each team chooses superlative awards, including a Most Valuable Player and one or more Coaches Award honors.
