CBA Athletics is pleased to announce that Michael Ehnot '18 (Varsity Sailing) and Bryan Hampton '18 (JV Crew) are the October Student Athletes of the Month.

Michael Ehnot | Varsity Sailing | Sophomore | Manasquan, N.J.

The Rundown:

Ehnot led the CBA sailing team in a great month of success, sailing in three major events in October. At the New Jersey League Fall Championship, Ehnot was the catalyst to the Colts' victory, winning two races midway through the event to give CBA breathing room to hold on to first place. At the U.S. Coast Guard Academy National Invitational, Ehnot and teammates JP Burgess '16 and Mark Iorio '16 were in contention to win their division throughout the whole regatta, staying top-three the entire weekend and missing first place by just nine points. Finally, Ehnot is the first CBA sailor since 2005- and just second ever- to qualify for the Singlehanded National Championship. He battled 17 other top high school sailors from across the country on Halloween weekend.

Outside of the sailing team, Ehnot is involved with the Ski Club, the FBLA, and is a Minister of Hospitality.

What They Are Saying About Michael:

"Without a doubt, Michael deserves this honor. He has had a terrific month of sailing, and to have one of our sailors qualify for the Singlehanded National Championship, that's a big deal. Aside from his sailing, Michael constantly shows his great knowledge, dedication and love for the sport, which is what CBA sailing is all about." - head sailing coach, Jody Lutz

Bryan Hampton | JV Crew | Sophomore | Oceanport, N.J.

The Rundown:

During the past month, Hampton's boat placed very highly in several races and regattas, with him squarely in the fifth seat position. Hampton's boat finished second overall in the Navy Day Regatta in Philadelphia on October 11th.

In addition to his crew success, Hampton sandwiches basketball in between the fall and spring crew seasons, proving to be a valuable member of CBA basketball. Last winter, Hampton helped to organize his teammates to participate in the annual Polar Bear Plunge.

What They Are Saying About Bryan:

"Bryan is a gentle giant - gentle away from competition, but a fierce competitor and leader when engaged in his athletic pursuits." - freshman basketball coach, Courter Smith
