A commitment to sport and service doesn't have to end after college. In fact, it can take on a new, more fulfilling purpose.

Such is the case with the brothers Cirincione, who are using their fitness to help raise money for pediatric cancer research.

Brothers Joe (Class of 2005) and Steve (Class of 2008) Circincione will be competing in the Wall Street Decathlon on Sunday, June 12th, an annual fundraiser held by Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC).

"This will be my first year competing in the event," says Joe. "I hope to make an impact on both the playing field and the fundraising charts."

The Decathlon features 150 amateur athletes in the financial industry at Wall Street competing in 10 separate events (800m run, 400m run, dips, 175lb bench press, pull ups, 40-yd dash, shuttle run, 500m row, vertical jump and a football throw).

Since 2011, the Decathlon has raised over $6 million for MSKCC's Pediatric Oncology Experimental Therapeutics Investigator's Consortium (POETIC).

POETIC is a consortium of leading academic institutions across North America directed by MSKCC and with the mission of promoting early clinical development of promising therapies for children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer and related disorders.

Those wishing to make a contribution can visit their NYC decathlon personal page. All donations go directly to MSKCC.
