The Christian Brothers Academy fencing team established itself as a top team in New Jersey last weekend at the Cetrulo Tournament at Drew University.

For the first time in program history, the team finished in the top-10 with a fourth place standing after the event. The top five was a who's who of fencing programs in New Jersey, with Columbia, Ridge, St. Peter's Prep and Bernards joining the Colts in the top group.

The Epee squad of Tad Lundborg, Tom Gana, Ryan Hagan and Chris Bonin led the way for Christian Brothers, finishing with the silver medal. The Foil squad made it into the top pool, as David Cutler, Peter Ferraro, Ken Skelton and Erik Prefer placed seventh. Finally, the Saber squad of Josh Grano, Michael Hennicke, Zach Miller and Dom Gangemi finished 15th.

Each of those finishes were program highs for the respective divisions.

CBA has come a long way since their first Cetrulo Tournament in 2014, where they finished 37th overall. In 2016, they jumped to 17th overall.

The Colts' Epee squad will look to defend their 2016 District 3 Championship this Sunday at Livingston High School.
